Two decades of growth in Greece and beyond
Founded in Athens in 2005 by architect, researcher and energy consultant Theodoros Sotirios Tountas, FUV began as an architectural practice and has since evolved into an integrated ecosystem spanning design, construction, certification, research and education.
Building Wellness is achieved through a balance of energy performance, indoor environmental quality, environmental responsibility and construction quality.
FUV Constructions was established in 2008, expanding the practice from design into integrated project delivery. Today, the Group combines bioclimatic design, specialist materials, construction, performance verification and international expertise with one shared objective: better buildings for the people who live and work in them.
During some of Greece’s most challenging years, FUV chose to remain and invest in the country. The Group introduced new technologies and specialised equipment, developed local expertise, trained construction teams and created jobs—supporting the economy while improving building quality and living conditions.
OUR VALUES
Firmitas Utilitas Venustas & Sostenibilitas
FUV takes its name from Firmitas, Utilitas and Venustas—the Vitruvian principles of strength, function and beauty. Sustainability, or Sostenibilitas, adds a commitment to people, responsible resource use and the future. Together, these four values define an approach grounded in material science, contemporary design, human needs and practical experience. The result is architecture that serves both people and the environment.

APPLIED INNOVATION
From knowledge to measurable performance
FUV began airtightness testing in 2011, adopting a measurable approach to construction quality before such testing was required by Greek legislation or requested by clients. The Group’s work now covers building envelopes, installed windows, ductwork, fire compartments and large-scale buildings.
FUV Products was established in 2013 as the Group’s commercial and technical branch, introducing specialist solutions for blown-in insulation, ventilation, airtightness, natural building and timber construction to the Greek market.
Research, measurement and construction experience shape the Group’s consultancy services, project delivery and hands-on training through FUV Academy. This continuous exchange between fieldwork, research and education lies at the heart of the FUV 360° approach.
Building performance & certification
FUV supports design teams, owners and investors with energy strategies, technical coordination and internationally recognised certification schemes, including LEED, BREEAM, Passive House and CasaClima.
Airtightness: measurable construction quality
The Group provides airtightness consultancy, on-site testing and certification for buildings of all scales, as well as testing for installed windows, ductwork and fire-protected enclosures.
RESEARCH · INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION
Bringing Greek field data into the international technical dialogue
FUV invests in research and development focused on building sustainability. Architect and researcher Theodoros Sotirios Tountas is a member of the TightVent Europe network and presents research at international conferences and through technical publications.
Research data, presentations and publications on airtightness and ventilation bring evidence from Greek buildings to the international research community. Insights from this exchange are then applied across FUV projects, consultancy and education.
